RSS Feeds

Two blogs in one day! Trying to get some catching up done.
OK, RSS feeds. Watching the video sure made a lot of sense. I can save time every morning before work by checking one website as opposed to the 15-20 that I usually visit. So, I followed instructions, subscribed to my favorite news sites, then started exploring for more. I found some terrific sites! Unshelved- ok, that one is just for fun, but it's kind of a good stress reliever! The Shifted Librarian- awesome book reviews and new titles. And graphicnovelreader.com- something I should be looking at a lot more to keep up with the graphic novel trends! But, even adding those few sites to my reader, I am beginning to get overwhelmed by it all. It's going to take some practice, but I'll keep at it for a week or so!

Are you tweeting today?

Since Twitter has been in the news a lot, I am trying to figure out the purpose of it. I know some people cannot live without their twitter, but it seems a bit over the top for me. Obviously, since I haven't been able to even blog for about 3 weeks, I do not have the time to tweet hourly or daily as most people do. So, is there a different purpose to tweeting that makes it worth it? Am I missing something about the whole Twitter experience? Even if I had the time, I am not sure I'd want that much of my knowledge out there and open to the world? Can anyone offer anything about Twitter that I may be missing? THANKS!

Summer Reading

Since this is created to help me learn to be better at my job, thought I'd post something job related. What are you reading this summer? Most of you know that my year is filled with reading Young Adult literature, which I truly love anyway. But, each summer, I make it a point to read ONE ADULT BOOK! This summer, I started reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer. She's the author of the Twilight series. The Host is totally different from her popular vampire series. I am not too far into it yet, but am enjoying it so far. It has a distinct sci fi feel to me. I am hoping that it gets a little more adventurous!
Fill me in on what great books you are reading at this time!
OK, here is my first blog on my own blogspot. I'm not quite sure what I am writing about. I have posted on others blogs before, but never my own. This is a new and unique experience. I've always loved the written word, and writing usually comes pretty natural to me. But writing for the entire world to see, that's a whole new area for me. If I sound like I am rambling, I probably am. It's the only way I know to try to get past the idea that my writing should be kept private and to myself. I'm not quite sure how far I'll be able to go in sharing with the entire world, but I'll sure give it a try!
